AP PHYSICS C - 4570AThis is a two period, two credit hour course. This course is the same as a year of first year physics for science and engineering majors at the college level. Because it uses so much calculus, algebra and trigonometry to illustrate the math behind the concepts, it is extremely important to have a successful (A or B) math record and to at least be taking calculus at the same time. The topics are divided into two categories: Mechanics (things moving, how and why things move, etc.) and Electricity and Magnetism (charged particles, interactions of charged particles, moving charged particles, circuits and current, magnets, etc). The AP Physics C course is designed to take the place of most universities and colleges first year physics. Many of the universities of interest to science and engineering majors will accept an AP C score of 5, and some a score of 4, for a full year credit for a lab physics.
