Paper Tower Exercise - Fall 2007 Materials: one 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper, 12" of tape, scissors, 2 class periods and teamwork  everyone could tell the base was important  there were never two bases exactly the same  and each base design idea had to be tested, approved or discarded   the engineering on paper was easier than the construction (one of those true facts)   needless to say, some designs needed an airless room  everyone worked hard on this assignment   coming up with ingenious ways to stabilize the towers  an initial measurement of over 122cms appeared to be a winner... but this measured in at 124 cms  The winner in St. Clair's classes measured in at 135cms!
